SBA Locker Room C
“What the hell is your problem??” Ms. Blitzen pointed a finger in Siren’s face. SilverStar was a few paces behind her as they entered the locker room. Ms. Blitzen was still hurting and embarrassed at their loss in the ring. But more than the pain, she felt a burning anger at the Lemurian woman that was tormenting her.
Siren stood up nonchalantly and gave her a cool look. “My problem? You’re the one who assaulted me outside the ring. All I did was call you a- ” Siren made a noise that a human throat probably couldn’t make. Emily immediately balled up her fist and wound up a haymaker to take off Siren’s head, but SilverStar grabbed her from behind and pinned her arms to her side.
“Blitzen, stop it!” she exclaimed as she pulled her back. Emily tried lashing out with a kick but Sarah already had her twisted away. Ms. Blitzen struggled to free her arms, but SilverStar was much stronger.
“Let me go!!” Emily snarled, revealing her fangs at Siren.
“Yes, let her go,” taunted Siren with feigned indifference. “Let her settle a difference of opinion with mindless violence. Just like an Atlantean…”
“Shut up!” snapped Sarah. “Or I’ll beat you down myself!”
“Do that, and you’ll both be expelled from the league. Engaging in a super battle outside of the containment field. Not only will that do everyone a favor and get both of you kicked out of here, but I’ll make sure you rot in prison for it.” Siren turned away as Emily calmed herself. “If you want a piece of me, Atlantislut. Then tell the commissioner to put us in the ring together. Just you and me. Leave your trained silverback gorilla behind.”
SilverStar finally let go of Ms. Blitzen as Siren left the locker room. “Are you okay?”
Emily looked up at Sarah’s face. “Yes. Thanks.” She hugged her. “I’m so embarrassed. I’m supposed to be the older, responsible heroine. And yet you’re the one keeping me out of street fights.”
“We’re teammates.” smiled Sarah. “You really, really lost it. Just now and out in the ring. What does that mean? What she called you?”
Emily frowned. “It doesn’t really have a good translation.”
They both sat heavily on a locker bench and began peeling their boots off. After the adrenaline began to fade they both were very aware of their bruised and beaten bodies. SilverStar generated a white light from her palms and placed them against Emily’s side. “No, do yourself first.” objected Emily.
“Nah, I’m ok, Em.” Healing energy began to wash through Emily’s body. Spreading from her ribs, to her limbs, up through her shoulders and neck to her aching jaw. She sighed with relief.
“So…” hesitated Sarah, as she focused on her healing glow. “Are you going to ask the commissioner to fight her?”
“You bet your ass I am!”
As the Dynamic Two nursed their wounds and prepared for the showers, they were watched. Something with skin shifting to match the walls of the locker room stood in the corner. It’s eyes focused on them and seethed with hatred.
