Superheroine Battle Arena – The Phantom, part 9

METROCITY

Superheroine Battle Arena, Commissioner X’s Office (2 hours ago)

Charles Black looked at Invincibelle from behind his shades as she made her pitch. The giant blue heroine had come in to request a match to be added to the schedule. Apparently, she had gotten into a bit of a verbal confrontation with Ms. Blitzen and SilverStar earlier. Some kind of home town pride thing, Angel Falls being the home of REAL superheroines and Cape City being a run down 3rd world city of super-wusses.

That sure didn’t sound like Ms. Blitzen… or SilverStar, but Invincibelle did bring some good ideas to the table. Most of the SBA roster were heroines based out of Metrocity. A fight featuring heroines from Angel Falls Vs Cape City could create a rivalry between cities on different coasts. Open up the possibility of speeding the construction of SBA Domes in those cities. After all, home town rivalries were a huge factory in other sporting venues.

“I’ll have the PR boys look into it.” was the last thing the commissioner had told her before she went flying out of his office.

Superheroine Battle Arena, Locker Room B (1 hour ago)

Blackmare watched Invincibelle with her arms crossed and a look of cool indifference on her face. The blue giant had found her just before she was getting ready for a sparring session with a SparBot. She was yammering on and on about how Ms. Blitzen and SilverStar had challenged her to a match and she needed a tag team partner in order for the match to be approved.

Latasha wondered why she was bothering her with her life story. Invincibelle kept going on about how she didn’t know anyone in the league and that she needed a good partner, someone with experience, and wouldn’t she like a second chance to beat the crap out of Ms. Blitzen… that is if she thought she could take her… Blackmare gritted her teeth, thinking “She did NOT just say that.”

“I’ll think about it.” was the last thing Latasha told her before Invincibelle went flying out of the locker room.

Superheroine Battle Arena, Gymnasium (NOW)

“I’m going to miss the workout equipment in here…” said SilverStar as she casually pressed forty tons of gravitic plating.

“I’m going to miss the smoothies in the cafeteria.” replied Ms. Blitzen as she held the cup over her teammate’s face.

“Hey, ladies!” Invincibelle flew into the gym and landed near the dynamic two. “I’m glad I caught you before you left.”

“Well, our transport doesn’t arrive until 6:00 tonight.” answered Ms. Blitzen. “Invincibelle, right?”

“Right. Hi, Ms. Blitzen. And SilverStar.”

“Hey, Belle.” said Sarah as she deactivated the grav press. “I caught your scrap with Lucky Star and Tamara. What was that all about?”

“Oh, that. Just a misunderstanding. Long story actually.”

“So, why were you looking for us?” asked Emily.

“Right! Uh, actually Commissioner X wanted me to talk to you and see if you’d be interested in staying in Metrocity for another couple of days. He was hoping you’d be willing to stick around for one last tag team match before you return home.”

Minutes later, Invincibelle was flying away from the gymnasium and Ms. Blitzen and SilverStar were excited about taking place in the Cape City Vs Angel Falls rivalry match that Commissioner X requested.

“Well, I’ll call off the transport. I guess we get to stick around an extra couple days…”

“Yup. One last match.” Sarah smiled, “Hey, Em?”

“Yeah?”

“What color are you going to dye your hair?
