Superheroine Battle Arena – Domination, part 12

METROCITY

SBA Infirmary

Molly cradled Siobhan’s head on the stretcher with tears in her eyes, “I’m so sorry, Lucky. You didn’t give me a choice. I didn’t want to fight you, but you just kept coming after me. You had this crazy look in your eyes like you wanted to kill me and I–” WAP! Lucky Star was barely conscious but somehow managed to slap Molly to quiet her down. “Ow?”

“S’ okay, Chicky.” Came a soft, broken whisper. Molly shuddered at the slur of her speech. She knew that she hurt Siobhan badly. She had felt the tendons in one of her shoulders pop as she applied a submission hold in the ring. Her leg was probably fractured as well. “You freed me…” she drifted away into unconsciousness.

Molly wondered where the MediBots were. She was anxious, sore, angry, frustrated, confused. She heard the whirr of servomotors and metal footfalls approach from the hallway. It’s about freaking time! She spun around and her heart sank. Two SparBots ducked into the infirmary, their eyes focused on Molly and they marched straight at her. Molly’s arms and legs were like jelly, she was in no shape for a fight. She brought up her hands into a guard but she could barely clench her fists they were so swollen.

“Come and get some you buckets o’–” she froze as both SparBots convulsed suddenly, sparks shot from their eyes, and they collapsed. Molly’s hands were still up although her eyes could barely focus.

Commissioner X strode into the room. His eyes still glowing from the electromagnetic discharge he used to fry the two robots. His face was stern as he gently picked up Lucky Star. “C’mon, Chickfighter. Get to my office, it’s not safe here.”

<SQUEELLCH!!>

This is Sara Sloan with a special announcement from the world of superhuman sports. The Superheroine Battle Arena has announced a change of management. Effective immediately, Commissioner X, the former hero and team member of The Tower known as Statix, has been removed from his position as League commissioner. In his place, Valerie DeVille, the incredibly popular league star known as The Dark Dominatrix, will act as commissioner.

Ms. DeVille brings a wealth of business knowledge to the league as well as a fresh perspective and dynamic style. She released a statement announcing her intentions to open additional arenas in other cities, and to begin aggressively recruiting superheroines from all over the world in order to bring some fresh new faces to the league.

While as a journalist I am supposed to remain impartial, I can only say that this is a welcome and needed change to the Superheroine Battle League, and that having Valerie DeVille at the helm will allow her beneficial influence to spread on a global platform.

METROCITY DOCKS

“Are you sure this is as far as you want me to take you? I could have a transport plane take you back home.”

“You already took me all over the universe.” replied Tamara. “I’m not quite ready to leave Metrocity yet. And you don’t need to babysit me.”

“Then have safe travels, Ms. Jones. I need to check in with The Tower and see about cracking open that other-dimensional prison.”

Tamara rushed into his arms and kissed him right on the slits of his demon mask. She expected it to be cold, but it was warm against her lips. She also expected him to be strong, but he was practically floating inside his coat. She was actually stronger and probably heavier than him. He was also unfazed by the kiss. “Nine more maidens to rescue, Ms. Jones.”

“Thank you, J.D.” she said and walked away. Swaying her hips slightly more than normal as she did.

“Yes, I think you will be fine, Ms. Jones.” he muttered as he activated his Comm. “Jade Detective to Tower, come in.”

“Jade Detective!” came a voice he didn’t recognize. Which meant someone on the auxiliary staff was monitoring the emergency channel. Which meant the entire team was deployed somewhere. “Where are you?”

“Metrocity. I located one of the missing women but I need heavy magical support to rescue the other–”

“Not happening! We are in the middle of an Omega Level event. We have all teams and reserves active in the field.”

“Omega level? I wasn’t gone that long. What could possibly be so–” Jade Detective spun around and his mask began peeling away the layers of perceived reality. Something was festering under the surface. Something old and ancient, evil and powerful. A portion of the sky was ripped open and just beyond was a fleshy mass of tentacles bulging against the seam, threatening to spill onto the oblivious freeway overpass. Beyond that, beyond sight, was the silhouette of something massive, something with dead stars for eyes and the screams of a dying universe for a voice.

An elder god trying to cross over into our world.

Jade Detective barely blinked, “Tower send me a transit beam now!”

“Yes, sir! To what location? Biggest threat zone right now is on the eastern–”

“The Superheroine Battle Arena!”

“… Sir?”
