Superheroine Battle Arena – Bad Blood, part 8

METROCITY

Superheroine Battle Arena

Countessa was again in the Superheroine Battle Arena in Metrocity. But this time the view was decidedly different. She was perched in the support structures of the ceiling, roughly one hundred feet above the ring below. The roar of the crowd was deafening the last time she was in the arena. Even more so this time as the acoustics of the domed ceiling reverberated and echoed back at her. It was difficult to make out the announcers words because of the distortion but it sounded like Ursa Mega. She waited, squinted her eyes, and tried to block out the noise.

Finally, she saw Ursa Mega emerge at the top of the ramp. She made her way towards the center of the ring, making a show of her disdain for the crowd as many of them booed.

Countessa stood up and began counting. She was not interested in another prolonged slugfest with the Russian wrestler, she wanted to take her out quick and get some answers.

She jumped.

The momentum from her fall behind an elbow to the skull should be enough to knock out the huge Russian wrestler. Or so she thought. As she passed into the Graviton Compression field at about 20 feet it bled off a lot of her inertia. “Blast!” She thought as she landed her elbow to Ursa’s head and drove the big woman to her knees. Ursa looked up at her with a mix of confusion and rage.

“My blood, Russian! Who was your contact? Who did you sell it to?” Countessa had a finger in Ursa’s face but the crowd was now roaring so loudly she couldn’t tell if she could even hear her. Ursa rose up on one leg and Countessa was about to attack when she was suddenly hit from behind by something that felt like two sledgehammers. She staggered forward and spun around. Blackmare, one of the other wrestlers, was right on top of her. Yelling something she couldn’t make out.

Countessa shoved Blackmare away. Ursa grabbed Countessa and spun her around. Blackmare shoved Countessa from behind. Ursa put a giant hand on Blackmare’s face and shoved her away. Countessa shoved against Ursa Mega but only managed to push herself backwards.

“Enough!” Yelled Ursa over the roar of the crowd. “You want to fight? And you want to fight? I want to fight! So let’s all fight!”

Countessa looked at Blackmare. They nodded at each other then stepped back to separate corners.
