When I first came up with the idea for the Superheroine Battle Arena I was hoping for the majority of the stories to be about other people’s Original Characters (with my regulars just as background characters for them to interact with, sort of like shopkeeper NPCs in every computer RPG). So I perused throughout the internets searchng for new superheroines with easy enough to find owners and asked around for anyone that would like to have a story and video arc with their heroine in it.
That’s when I discovered Angel Falls on Deviant Art. Angel Falls is a fictional city full of supers. Deviant Art creators make their own original characters and roleplay and interact with other OCs in comics and fiction on the site. A lot of it is just softcore porn, but there are some cool character ideas there.
That’s also where I found Countessa, created by dagame2578. I wanted to throw in some info about the character because I know most people won’t bother to click that link and sift through the virtually un-navigable Deviant Art site.
Countessa was born to nobility in the principality of Wallachia (modern Romania) in the early 16th century. Her interest in science and medicine led to the discovery of the Viata serum which gave her enhanced strength, speed and regeneration. Over the centuries she has fought in several wars and trained under several martial arts masters.
Bad Blood is a play on words. If the story ended right after the first fight between Countessa and Ursa Mega, you would think, “Oh, yeah, there is definitely some bad blood between those two.” But then the actual physical blood becomes an important plot device in the second half of the story. One important plot point which adds to the drama of the final battle and which I don’t think I ever mentioned in the story arc is that Countessa is barren. And because of that, snapping the neck of some monster that is the closest thing she will ever have to a daughter is… all kinds of Greek tragedy material. So blood also refers to family lineage and how Countessa is the last of her bloodline. See, there’s some thoughtful writing that goes into these, it’s not all just an excuse for videos of scantily-clad women with huge boobs. Armed with that additional piece of info, go back and read through Bad Blood, Final Chapter and see if you get goose bumps when Countessa says, “Come to mama.”
I enjoyed using Countessa for the videos. And especially in the story, trying to convey and get into the mind of an immortal. The reason I write the stories is because, hopefully, you become emotionally invested in the character, so you care what happens in the video battles.
