Superheroine Battle Arena – Tides of War, part 17

METROCITY

SBA Arena: Siren’s Quarters

“She was just a girl, mother!” Siren screamed at the flickering holo-image. “I could feel her bones break under my fists. She’s not an Atlantean! She’s wasn’t our enemy!”

“Ally to enemy… our enemy!” the queen hissed. This didn’t sound anything like her mother. The holo-connection was bad, true, but she had begged her, insisted that she break the Silver heroine. Beat her relentlessly to force Ms. Blitzen to retaliate.

“But it didn’t work!” Siren cried out, “all that’s happened is that I’ve been suspended, possibly expelled from the league. Then what? Challenge her to a battle in the streets of the city? Maybe declare war on the surface world while we’re at it?”

“Cease drama, spawnling!” the queen snapped. “Plan… set in motion… DID work. The heir of Atlantis agreed to battle. Secret Arena. We are transmitting locale.” Tiyura cocked her head to one side. A secret arena? She had heard that there was another underground superheroine fight circuit, supported by the Yakuza and organized crime heads in Metrocity. Did she actually have Lemurian agents securing this place just to arrange this fight? “She comes. You fight. You destroy her. You break her. Away from the light of surface eyes. Fight for our people!”

Siren felt the bloodlust coming back to her. “Yes, mother. I will break her.”

Industrial Zone: Abandoned Warehouse

Queen Mirisaya cut the holo-tranceiver feed and the image of Siren faded away. Seconds later, her features morphed and discolored into the orange-skinned snake woman. She pressed a button on the remote and the holo-image changed to that of a cloaked figure.

“Report, changer.”

“Fires of hatred stoked to burning!” hissed the reptilian woman. “They will fight as planned.”

“Pleased with your acumen, changer.” replied the cloaked figure. “Ensure that both princesses die. Let the fires of hatred consume both their kingdoms!”

“I will. They will die.”

“The Kraken lives!” uttered the cloaked figure.

“The Kraken lives!” answered the shapechanger.
